"I want to make sure that the dogs leave knowing how to play well with others so they go out and make the world a better place. It's about ripples."
-Shelly Gilliam
Here's how you can socialize your dog!
Dogs & the Rule of 7's
Play with seven different toys: big balls, small balls, soft fabric toys, fuzzy toys, squeaky toys, paper or cardboard, metal items, wooden items, or milk jugs.
Meet and play with seven new dogs in various surroundings: at home, a park, at a friend's home, while on a walk in the neighborhood, at the beach, and on the trail. Remember to supervise these meetings and use the one-at-a-time rule until the pooches are well-socialized.
Give them seven challenges: climb on a box, climb off a box, go through a tunnel, climb steps, go down steps, climb over obstacles, play hide and seek, go in and out of a doorway with a step up or down, or run around a fence.
